Twenty-three (23) swimmers will see action for Team Singapore at the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Nine (9) female and fourteen (14) male swimmers will composed the Singapore swimming team in the biennial meet.
Spearheaded by 2016 Olympic gold medalist Joseph Schooling, the men's squad includes Teong Tzen Wei, Pang Sheng Jun, Jonathan Tan, Glen Lim, Ardi Azman, Maximillian Ang and Gabriel Koo.
Also competing for the men's events are Mitchell Ang, Mikkel Lee, Ong Jung Yi, Darren Chua, Ephraim Tan and 2019 SEA Games best male athlete Quah Zheng Wen.
For the women's side, the swimmers are Amanda Lim, Quah Jing Wen, Bonnie Yeo, Christie Chue, Gan Ching Hwee, Ashley Lim, Chan Zi yi, Letitia Sim and Quah Ting Wen.
With solid swimming team for 31st SEA Games, Singapore is still favorite to dominate the swimming competition.
Their close rival will be host Vietnam whose swimmers trained in Europe with some new discovered young swimmers like the brother of retired Nguyễn ("the mermaid') Thị Ánh Viên.
The swimming competition will be held at the Mỹ Đình Aquatics Center from May 14 to 19 with 40 events.
At the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines, Singapore team won 37 medals including the 23 gold medals.
