The 31st Southeast Asian Games will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam and its neighboring provinces. The opening ceremony will be on May 12 and will close on May 23. The biennial meet features 526 in 40 sports.
Eleven countries are expected to participate in this regional meet with host Vietnam having the most number of athletes. Below are the Southeast Asian countries taking part in the biggest sporting event in Southeast Asia.

The mascot of the games is Sao La, inspired by saola – a rare mammal native to central Vietnam. The mascot was designed by Ngô Xuân Khôi.
Meanwhile, the emblem was designed by Hoà ng Xuân Hiếu which is inspired by the combined images of a dove and a human hand to create the "V" shape representing "victory" and "Vietnam"
The motto of the 31st SEA Games is "For a Stronger Southeast Asia"with the official theme song titled "Let's Shine".
