The Indonesian contingent for the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam has a total number of 738 delegates consisting of 476 athletes, 207 officials and 55 headquarters.
Indonesia will participate in 32 sports. These sports are weightlifting, athletics, bicycle racing, badminton, canoeing, rowing, karate, shooting, archery, pencak silat, swimming, artistic gymnastics, taekwondo, wushu which are part of DBON sports. .
While the other 18 sports are fencing, bowling, chess, esports, wrestling, jujitsu, judo, kickboxing, diving, men's soccer, sepak takraw, tennis, boxing, triathlon, indoor volleyball, beach volleyball, basketball, vovinam, and golf
The selection of athletes was based on the priority of medals and the development of young athletes. The Indonesian delegation is composed of 60 percent junior athletes and 40 percent senior athletes.
The 31st SEA Games will feature 40 sports with 526 events. This is the second time that Vietnam will host the biggest multi-sporting event in Southeast Asia region. The last time Vietnam hosted was in 2003.
